The Apeks EVX200 First Stage is a compact, high-performance 1st stage designed for divers who value thermal resilience, logical hose routing, and pressure stability as depth increases. Precision-machined in the UK, it carries the same engineering mindset found behind Britain’s most popular cold-water rigs.

Machined from brass and strengthened with a PVD protective coating, the EVX200 shrugs off salt, impact, and seasons of challenging dive logistics. Heat-exchange ribs and a ribbed diaphragm clamp actively reclaim warmth from surrounding water, improving gas temperature stability in colder water conditions common in regions of North Sea and UK inland training sites.
Breathing that strengthens on descent.
At depth, the unique over-balanced diaphragm design increases hose gas pressure faster than ambient pressure rises, maintaining stable delivery and smooth downstream performance as the dive goes deeper. The result is confident airflow and seamless second-stage response when the profile turns demanding.
Ports placed for tidy rigs, not twisted hoses.
Five improved orientation medium-pressure ports support clean multi-hose routing, while two angled high-pressure ports make gauge and transmitter alignment natural, secure, and low-stress. A double-swivel LP connection eliminates neck torque and hose-tug frustration, giving effortless head movement during longer dives, shutdown drills, or stage rotations.

The ACD system automatically closes when removed from the cylinder, blocking water ingress before it becomes a problem — especially valuable when entries are cold, wet, or rinsing options aren’t instant. It’s internal protection without external complication.
